Questionnaires
In response to the recent questionnaires there have been a few general issues which we would
like to respond to.
* Firstly is the issue of food. Over the past few months, following a suggestion from a parent,
Faye and I have been looking into the feasibility of 'going organic'. Further to this we have sought
your views for a more representative opinion. The general consensus is that you are happy with
the standard and quality of the food provided, with many parents not wanting to pay a premium for
organic food or even feel the necessity to go organic given that the food is already locally sourced
and good quality. We are in the process of changing dairies for our milk supply and the new supply
will be organic. We always strive to provide healthy and nutritious meals and we will continue to
monitor how and from where, we source our food to ensure this is maintained.
* Further to your comments with regard to our communications, it is lovely to read that so many of you
appreciate our communication style including the newsletter, door notices, displays and invoicing to
name but a few. We particularly noticed the electronic version of our newsletter is a popular choice
and if you currently don‛t receive an electronic version and would like to, please complete the reply
slip attached. This has led us to explore ways in which we could make our invoices electronic, given
that currently they are issued on paper every four months with additional extras and amendments
issued in between times. We have identifi ed a way to send these electronically in PDF format so if
you would be interested in receiving the paperless alternative, please once again complete the reply
slip attached.
* The next issue we would like to address is the answering of the front door. Understandably this
can be frustrating and we apologise that on occasions there is a long delay before a member of staff
comes to the door. We have looked into alternative entry systems (e.g. a buzzer or thumbprint
recognition) but with any type of system that doesn't require a physical presence at the door there is
always a danger of tailgating (i.e. someone holding the door for the next person coming in) which can
lead to a breach of security and unauthorised entry. We pride ourselves on security and providing
a personal service to each child coming to Bumblebees and feel that these alternatives would be
detrimental to this service. We hope this goes some way to addressing the suggestions raised
regarding the door being answered quicker. However the children, in particular their security,
is paramount to us so we will continue with the current system and would be appreciative of your
continued patience when required.
* The final general issue for us to address is the car park. We understand that this continues to
be frustrating for parents at busy times when few spaces are available. As you can appreciate the
availability of parking is beyond our control so we continue to ask parents to park courteously in the
car park or use the public road if you‛d prefer.
One of the really strong themes of the questionnaires was the feedback about the staff, their
dedication, friendliness and overall ethos. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank
you for this feedback as the staff at Bumblebees work extremely hard and are always striving to
meet yours and your child‛s needs. I know this has been particularly rewarding for the staff to hear
your positive responses as they can see their hard work paying off.
The questionnaire is always a useful tool for us and provides useful and constructive feedback, so
we therefore thank you for taking the time to complete it. As promised, all names were put into a
hat and well done to Flynn‛s mum and dad who were the winners of the wine.
